  • I thought of this question when listening to "Stairway to Heaven" in the car this morning. It has a really good guitar solo 3/4ths the way through, that bridges to the heavy part of the song. - me
  • The long bridge in the middle of Dogs off of Pink Floyd's Animals. Doesn't matter where I am, but I can't stop myself from attempting to mimic it when I hear it. - Mark Trapp
  • dickey betts - allman bros - jessica - http: //www.youtube.com/watch?v... - the entire song is a guitar solo ;) - mike "glemak" dunn
  • allman bros' jessica - I agree - Sean Dunn
  • Nuno Bettencourt has some amazing solos on Extreme's first album but as crazy as it sounds the solo on "Booker" from Harry Connick Jr.'s album She completely floors me if it catches me at the right moment - Marco
  • Steely Dan - Do it again - Mike Fruchter
  • Jessica's as good as it gets. From David Gilmore, I'd say Wish You Were Here... - Shawn L. Morrissey
  • Easy: Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb (edit: wow, strong Gilmore showing...) - Vince DeGeorge
  • It's not really a solo, but the first notes from "Tears In Heaven" by Eric Clapton give me the shiver : ) - directeur
  • Led Zeppelin's Heartbreaker. Hands down. - James Ferguson
  • Eric Clapton's Layla. Love the piano too. http: //www.youtube.com/watch?v... - Russellreno
  • Esoteric choice: Lou Reed, The Velvet Underground, I Heard Her Call My Name; ultra-minimalist choice: Neil Young, Cinnamon Girl - Sean McBride
  • The guitar solo on Harry Connick, Jr.'s "Booker" was actually played by Harry himself, as is every instrument on that song, which makes it even more impressive. - Dave Roth
  • @dave roth really? that I didn't know - very much agree - Marco
  • Martin Barre's solo in Jethro Tull's 'Aqualung'. - Akiva Moskovitz
  • Vernon reid-Living Colour /Cult of Personality. Brian Eno-Baby's on Fire Robert Fripp guitarist - Mark Forman
  • Isn't Robert Fripp the guy who did the default theme sounds for Vista? ;) I already know that Brian Eno did them for Windows NT, 98, ME, 2K and XP. - Me
  • Robert Fripp is founder of King Crimson-dunno on Vista. Bingo on Eno for NT/XP they are good friends and have made numerous albums of ambient music together. - Mark Forman
  • Jay Graydon. Peg. End of story. - Jim Jannotti
  • Man, there's a lot of songs I am going to have to research. Thanks folks! - Me
